Beyond Dawn - Frysh®

Of Beyond Dawn The Face said that they “look like Army Of Lovers meets Fischerspooner but sound like Röyksopp meets Depeche Mode.” I’ve been trying to think of a better description than that but I can’t, it encapsulates them perfectly.

Frysh® is an electronic album but laced with the kind of guitar that you don’t normally find on these kind of things. Can you imagine fellow Norwegians Röyksopp bursting into heavily distorted rock at the end of a track. No. That’s because they wouldn’t because they don’t have the same understanding of dynamics that Beyond Dawn do. The peak of bizarreness on this album is probably the cover of Severed Survival by Autopsy. Making death metal relaxed is no mean feat!
