This is the second in a series of four 7″ singles to be released by The Boy Least Likely To. The first, Paper Cuts/Sleeping With A Gun Under My Pillow was released earlier this year and failed hugely to impress me (I can vaguely remember absolutely hating it). However, this single is a great improvement, beautifully quirky and a bit folky it seems unutterably optimistic about everything. The Xylophone on Be Gentle With Me does, in fact, make it the happiest song I’ve ever heard. Even if it’s not.
