The continuing saga or Pete Doherty, er, continues. Now he’s casting doubt onto the future of the Libertines with claims that he has given an interview to The Sun in which he says he wants to get away “from the cycle of destruction.”

The singer and guitarist admitted himself to the Priory last week, only to be thrown out this week (for nipping out to the FA Cup final, which is against the rules).

Writing on his ever-insightful website www.babyshambles.com he said, “”I must away…. from the cycle of destruction…yeah yeah all gigs are off including the festivals I was ‘too unwell’ to play last year.”
