The History Originally formed under the moniker Angel By Jamie and Jon back in 1998 before changing to Reuben in March 2000. In September of that year they recorded they debut release, the Pilot EP, which was released in January 2001. The band then set about getting their faces known and played live all around the country, suffering only slightly from a yo-yo like drummer, who finally left the band completely in September 2001, which led to the hiring of Guy as a full-time replacement.

Boss Music released the Scared Of The Police single in March 2002, which started the ball rolling to the acclaim they now bask in and even managed to get to number 2 in the MTV2 Most Wanted chart. After a few more independent single releases, the band decided to go into the studio and self-finance the recording of their debut album. This was snapped up by Xtra Mile, a small label owned by the band’s press company, Press Counsel.

The Sound A mix of soaring melody and vicious metal. Points of reference include Hundred Reasons, Deftones and Faith No More.

Other Items Of Interest The song Stuck In My Throat includes the quote “you’re kitten as a ca”’ from Love Cats by The Cure. A mistake by the label meant that the inlay of that single, which was meant to feature the original photo of Guy and the lyrics to all three songs was left blank.
