Taking the tack of many a pop group before them (most notably the Spice Girls), Blink 182 have announced that they are not splitting up but going on “indefinite hiatus” with “no set plan” for when they may work together again.

The statement reads: “For over a decade, Blink 182 has toured, recorded and promoted non-stop, all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends. To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring.”

Consolation for Blink 182 fans may come from rumours that another group who went on indefinite hiatus, Boyzone, are set to may a comeback with Gareth Gates in place of Ronan Keating.
