Backwash - What A Difference Two Years Makes
Posted by: Andy on Monday, 6th June, 2005Taking time out from an extensive live schedule that has seen them support legendary names like The Damned and Stiff Little Fingers, Backwash headed out to the Malvern hills to record this seven track EP.
Although very much a punk band, Backwash’s sound is heavily reminiscent of bands like Finch and Incubus. Aided by excellent production from Tribute To Nothing bassist Jim Turner, they prove themselves as masters of high energy, room-filling rock songs. They also manage to mix in a little ska every now and then too, without it sounding out of place.
The only down point on What A Difference Two Years Makes is its final track, This Forever Feeling, on which the band take off their rock hats and take on the emotional acoustic ballad. Let’s just say, it wasn’t a wise move and leave it at that.
