CKY’s first step on the road to success was in 1998 when they began contributing music to Bam Margera’s CKY skateboarding video series and precursor to Jackass (the band’s drummer is Margera’s brother Jess). Since then they’ve sold around half a million albums and built up a fanatically dedicated following, dubbed the CKY Alliance.

An Answer Can Be Found is CKY’s fourth album. With a masked but nonetheless apparent disco-punk influence, the band make hard edged music that is very easy to dance to and makes it easy to see how the band have picked up so many fans.

Another element carefully masked is Deron Miller’s vocal ability. Presented as just simple, straight forward and standard rock vocals, they are actually layered with intricate harmonies for maximum impact.

All this is a credit to guitarist Chad I Ginsberg’s production, which proves it’s not always a bad idea for bands to produce themselves.

CKY have done more than enough to keep members of their alliance very happy and welcome plenty more into the fold.
