Johnny Depp recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he based the character of Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. It seems that sparked something in someone’s head (or maybe a lot of people’s heads) because Richards has now been cast as Sparrow’s father in a squel to the original film.

Bill Nighy, who plays Davey Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man’s chest, told Contact Music, “Keith Richards will appear in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 or 3. I’m not sure which one, because they are being filmed back to back.”
