Art Brut guitarist Chris Chinchilla has left the group citing personal issues as a reason for the split, which is apparently amicable.

Chinchilla has been replaced by Jasper Future, who made his first appearance with the band on Saturday (10th Sept) at Bestival on the Isle Of Wight.

Art Brut commented on the split to the NME, saying “The band are saddened by Chris’ decision to leave but they respect it and look forward to playing with their new recruit Jasper.”

Chris Chinchilla made has posted his own statement on his website www.chinchilla-music.co.uk, which reads:

“I have left Art Brut, to take some time out to sort a few personal issues out. I want it to be made very clear that I enjoyed my time with the band and hope we are still on friendly terms. I will get a bit more detail up on here as soon as possible to let you all know what I’m up to. Rest assured I will return to live music in some capacity soon.”
