Weezer To Split?

Rumours that Weezer are to split have been abound since fans noticed that a passge from Shakespeare’s final play The Tempest is quoted in the liner notes for recent album Make Believe. Though the band have spoken about their future, they seem to have done nothing but added confusion to the situation.

Guitarist Brian Bell has further fanned the flames by telling reporters, “We have no idea if we’re going to be in a band next year”. Though he added, “That’s the fun of being in Weezer. That’s why we put out albums every three years, and we have these darkperiods where we don’t know if we’re even going to be a band anymore”.

Frontman Rivers Cuomo has done nothing to clear matters up by telling MTV, “When we were putting the album together and finishing up the artwork, I didn’t know what was going to happen in the future and I told everyone that. And that was one of the reasons why I put that quote in there, because I thought it’s a really nice way to say goodbye, if it is a goodbye.”
