The Beauty Shop (aka John Hoeffleur) play a noirish Americana that has a jauntiness in the tune that acts to cover the sometimes darker lyrics. The contrast works well and the songs here have attitude and catchiness a plenty.

While they are already a couple of albums old in their native Illinois the UK is given a chance to catch up with the compilation album Yard Sale which is due out early next year.
