Big Strides - Let’s Get Nice

They may have earned themselves enough critical acclaim to last a lifetime with their debut album Big Town, Small Strides but that doesn’t mean they’re not going to do it all over again, as they prove with the first single from their second album, Let’s Get Nice.

The track is reminiscent of El Oso-era Soul Coughing with it’s sleazy and slow but driving bass line. The rest of the music is funked up and jazzy (but not jazz-funk, right? That way badness lies) with Marcus O’Neill’s rapped vocals over the top. It’s the kind of song that reminds you that summer isn’t that far away and it’s a winner all the way.
