The Bluetones - The Bluetones
Posted by: Andy on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2006You’re probably surprised to find that The Bluetones are still going. I knew they were and it still shocked me when this CD arrived in the office. And what are The Bluetones doing these days? Well, much the same as they were last time you heard them, making this album instantly recognisable.
The answer to the question, “will this put The Bluetones back on their throne?” (which I know you’re asking) is no. Will it at least make them one of those bands that re-emerge to critical acclaim and seal them a profitable but outside the mainstream future? Still no. Is it a fairly good pop record. Yes.
If you take the time to get to know this record then there are a few tracks that will get themselves into your head, in particular Head On A Spike, but on the whole it’s not something you’re likely to come back to all that often, despite this.
