Alexander Tucker - Furrowed Brow
Posted by: Andy on Monday, 4th December, 2006Alexander Tucker’s dark, dark, dark folk contains traces of Jose Gonzalez, Mogwai, The Beta Band, Johnny Domino, and all manner of cold Nordic music, but sounds like none of the above. Mostly acoustic (occasionally drifting into post-rock or cut up vocal samples), the layered guitars and droning vocal harmonies go together to make something rather beautiful but quite sinister.
The warmer weather this year has confused my senses, but now I’ve listened to this album I know that winter has set in.
