Honeytrap - The Naked Dancing EP

Posted by: Andy on Tuesday, 23rd January, 2007

Let’s Do Naked Dancing is very English, twitchy, dance, guitar pop that grabs you by the ears and then throws you face first into a violin solo just when you least expect it. They calm down a bit for the brooding psych rock of I Don’t Know How It Begins before shifting again to Spotlight, which sounds like The Libertines on different drugs. Then they round up proceedings with Mussolini’s Son, which is heavily influenced by eastern European folk.

Yes, Honeytrap make wildly diverse music that somehow all manages to fit under the same umbrella. They manage to do this despite living in Coventry. Well done, Honeytrap.
