Since 2004, the Punktastic Un-scene series has provided regular snapshots of the UK punk scene, often picking out future big names, including My Awesome Compilation and Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.

As the series’ popularity grows, it stands to reason that there will be names on this instalment that you may not know now, but will do this time next year. There are a few hot contenders: Fastlane, Chaser, The Riverclub, The Misnomer and Second Monday.

As with any compilation like this, there is some utter rubbish but with a generous amount of exclusive tracks and some great new bands to smooth things out, if you’re in any way interested in the UK punk scene right now then you owe it to yourself to buy this.
