When Dartz! drummer Philip Maughan and guitarist Henry Carden decided to swap instruments because they thought it might be funny, they probably never imagined that two years later they would be releasing their debut album. Those who have been watching the band’s rise over the last two years might have started to worry it wasn’t coming, too.

But come it has, and brings with it a very English take on The Dismemberment Plan. Like that band, Dartz! set out to make pop that is accessible to all, but quirky enough to appear the opposite. In the end, it’s all about fun, and that’s the perfect description of listening to This Is My Ship: Fun.
