Fall Out Boy - Infinity On A High
Posted by: Andy on Tuesday, 13th February, 2007Fall Out Boy are cheeky devils, aren’t they? They caught me completely off guard by having Jay-Z open their new album. It seems he managed to take time out from guesting on every single R&B album ever released to record a couple of sentences. How nice of him. His presence also means that Fall Out Boy are officially here and now nothing will stop their ascension to the top of the pretend-punk tree.
One of my main gripes with previous FOB albums has been that the production has always been far too clean and flat, so it’s kind of nice that there’s a bit more grit to their third effort. It’s not much consolation, though, as they slip more dull pop into their sound - at its worst on Me & You, which makes the album’s other R&B connection by featuring production from Babyface, and piano ballad Golden.
Why don’t you go and listen to a real band?
