Piskie Sits - The Secret Sickliness

Posted by: Andy on Tuesday, 13th February, 2007

Evoking memories of Dinosaur Jr, Teenage Fanclub and early Graham Coxon, Piskie Sits’ debut album, The Secret Sickliness, is half an hour of slacked out, fuzzed up pop.

Though they’re presented as a bunch of drunken losers, bashing out noisy songs because there’s nothing else to do, there’s something in Craig Hale’s vocals that spoils this theory. Fuzzy or no, songs don’t come much more heartfelt that The Hope And The Aim and previous single, What Is The Point?

Face it, if you were a fan of most of this band’s influences, you’re old enough to know better now. What more reason do you need to get back into it now?
