Kubichek! have been about to happen for a long time now (particularly if you remember when they were Parklandsway), singles have been released and re-released by various labels but now the band have settled at 30:30 Recordings long enough to spit out an album. And what an album it is.

Getting the punk fire/pop hook ratio right, just like Idlewild and At The Drive-In at their best, all twelve songs on Not Enough Night slip into your ear like a snake and start squeezing your brain. Once in there, they let rip with their secret weapon - the sprawling post-rock riffs of Mogwai and Explosions In The Sky. These thicken up the sound without destroying the pop songs that make up the backbone of the album, similar to but more satisfying than Editors.

Kubichek! are no longer about to happen, they’re happening right now. Look!
