Various Artists - Something I Learned Today
Posted by: Andy on Tuesday, 3rd April, 2007Okay, you must know how it works now. If you want to find out who the hottest underground indie bands are without having to wade through pages of hype and lies, you go and get yourself a Dance To The Radio compilation. So, you’ll be glad to know that there’s a new one available, Something I Learned Today, and it features fifteen new acts from around the world.
Here are five of my favourite tracks:
- I Was A Cub Scout - Teenage Skin. Energetic electro-pop with excellent live drumming.
- Laura Groves - Coast. She’s 19 and, frankly, sounds younger. Just as you’re thinking this, she hits you with an amazing harmony and renders you useless.
- : ( - Codes. They do nintendocore versions of post-hardcore songs and have a name you can’t search for on the internet. All boxes ticked.
- Ghost Fleet - For What It’s Worth. They hate you.
- This Et Al - Can You Speak European? One of the best tracks from their very good album.
Do I need to give you any further incentive? Okay, it’s dead cheap. Now go buy it.
