The Oohlas are a sort of melancholic rock-pop outfit, and Small Parts reminds me a little of Lloyd, I’m Ready To Be Heartbroken by Camera Obscura. But only a little, don’t start thinking they’re anything alike!

I quite like this song; it’s fuzzy and bouncy yet has a dark side. Small Parts has a faint whiff of cheese, but I think it’s neatly balanced by some delicate but edgy guitar grumbles.

This is certainly a strong debut and they have some potential to be really good, but I think they need to find a bit of a quirk or niche of their own.
