This Et Al - Of National Importance

Posted by: Daisy on Friday, 6th April, 2007

Of National Importance is an almost apocalyptic rabble from some of New Yorkshire’s more intriguing darlings. It’s a savage track that opens with a rage and grumbles into a finely manicured monster. Erring on the side of emo but clawing its way back to normality, this song shrieks maturity and it’s impossible to deny that This Et Al are a force to be reckoned with.

Double A side The Mother’s Position is just as crashing and fierce but has a far greater pop edge to it and combines influences from such greats as My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth and Queens Of The Stone Age, creating a track which jabs their contemporaries with a big spiky stick. Nice.
