Secret Garden Party 2007
Posted by: Andy on Saturday, 21st April, 2007The 2007 Secret Garden Party, it has just been announced, will take place from 26th to 29th July, giving revellers an extra day to fully immerse themselves in fantasy world created by the festival’s organisers.
Creating a community who meet once a year to realise their desires in a beautiful, idyllic lakeside setting, The Secret Garden Party is a pioneer of party design and dynamics. This year boasts an all-new, all-dancing main stage, a performance arts ‘Festival Of Fools’ stage and the new ‘Centre Camp’ -a microcosm of the festival and a home for everyone. All taking place in a larger and lovingly redesigned landscape.
As well as these large changes, more emphasis is being placed on smaller tented areas that will be able to keep the party going all night. So look out for hitherto unseen delights such as: The Fish Seeks Bicycle Looniverse, One Small World, Where The Wild Things Are and finally the participatory SGP Action Camps, including Action Figure Camp, The Apres Ski Club and The Kissing Workshop.
But some things don’t change. The SGP is still the only small festival that can claim not only to be completely un-branded and non-corporate but also to have the widest, most diverse and best line-ups of any event like it.
Now in it’s fifth year, with the friendly and accessible capacity of 6,000, to the uninitiated, Secret Garden Party has the advantage of the most beautiful lakeside setting, with babbling brook, floating dance floors, an ever-moving stone circle, tree houses, dressing up boxes, alternative olympics and a whole host of interactive and inspirational past-times and art works.
Not only that, but there’s a whole host of cutting edge musicians there to entertain you, in the unlikely event you get bored of everything else. Acts so far confirmed for this year include:
