Raconteurs Back In The Studio
Posted by: Andy on Tuesday, 24th April, 2007Yeah, I know what you’re thinking but The Raconteurs are back in the studio recording their second album, the follow-up to their 2006 debut, Broken Boy Soliders.
The band currently have twelve new songs written and are trying to complete the recording before guitarist Jack White has to head out on tour with his other band, The White Stripes, whose sixth album, Icky Thump, is due out in June.
White isn’t entirely sure that the group (completed by Brendan Benson and Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler of The Greenhornes) will manage to get all the new songs finished in he three weeks they currently have allotted. “We don’t know if were going to finish but we wanted to get everything down before we got busy,” White told Billboard.com. “We have a lot bigger ideas about certain things, so we will see how far we get.”
He remained tight-lipped on the exact details of the new songs, but did say that they were “very different” from those on Broken Boy Soldiers and that fans could expect an early 2008 release though White’s Third Man record label.
