With a list of touring partners that reads like a who’s who of the rock world and a critically acclaimed debut album behind them, X Is Loaded have still failed to take off in the way they really should have. Now they’re back with an eclectic new album and they’re as fired up as ever.

Kicking off with Heroin, it’s clear this is going to be a bit of a white knuckle ride. There isn’t a second on this album where it doesn’t sound like the band are putting everything they have into it and with passion like that, it’s hard to dislike them.

The band draw on a wide range of influences to oil their machine. There are traces of everyone from Nirvana to Million Dead to Oceansize to Black Sabbath. But the final stamp is all their own and it’s certainly one worth your attention.
