Band Of Horses - The Funeral

Posted by: Andy on Monday, 14th May, 2007

After the break-up of their former band, Carissa’s Weird, Ben Bridwell and Mat Brooke formed Band Of Horses in 2004. They released their acclaimed debut album, Everything All The Time, through Sub Pop in 2006.

Released through London label, KIDS, The Funeral is one of the stand-out tracks from the album. Bridwell’s reverb-soaked vocals instantly bring to mind The Shins but it doesn’t take long to realise that this is actually something much, much better.

Band Of Horses write the kind of songs that collect in your stomach, where they get absorbed into your bloodstream and gradually take over your body. The Funeral is a case in point, a song that quietly strokes your face before exploding, sending shards of emotion all over the floor.

Grab a broom and get listening.
