Shy Child - Noise Won’t Stop

Posted by: Andy on Monday, 14th May, 2007

There is no label to describe Shy Child. They come from New York, there are two of them and this is their debut album. They say their aim is to fuse dancehall and Timbaland beats with punk energy. And, er, I suppose that’s what they do. It’s certainly as close as you’re going to get.

Shy Child’s music is powered by jerky drums, frenzied synths, breathless vocals and fistfuls of blue Smarties. In-keeping with the music, the lyrics tend to tell of things changing suddenly and dramatically. There is no room for thought here; everything is sudden and dramatic.

Noise Won’t Stop ushers an exciting new force onto the electronic music scene. They’re bursting with so much energy it’d be wrong not to get up and dance.
