Dillinger Drummer Escape Plan
Posted by: Andy on Monday, 18th June, 2007It seems that Dillinger Escape Plan drummer and founding member Chris Pennie has left the band. Though no official announcement to that end has been made, in a post MySpace the band list Stolen Babies drummer Gil Sharone in place of Pennie.
The post is somewhat cryptic but does hint at a number of internal and individual problems suffered by the band in the last twelve months and suggests that the split with Pennie may not have been entirely amicable. However, for now the band are playing their cards close to their chest, claiming that “details of what has transpired over the last year, and starting long before then, will reveal themselves in time.”
Last year Pennie contributed drums to a number of tracks on Idiot Pilot’s forthcoming Wolves album. More recently he provided drums on Coheed And Cambria’s new album Good Apollo I’m Burning Star IV; Volume II: No World for Tomorrow in place of their own recently departed drummer Josh Eppard.
Though there is no confirmation as yet, it seems most likely that Chris Pennie is now a full-time member of Coheed And Cambria.
