The Neutrinos - One Way Kiss

Posted by: Andy on Thursday, 2nd August, 2007

The Neutrinos’ art-punk murder ballads have been wowing crowds for a long time now, and for those people this album has been a long time coming. With much anticipation comes a greater chance for disappointment but One Way Kiss is not an album happy to drag its heals behind expectation.

Influences from Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Portishead, Nirvana, Dead Kennedys and more besides are smashed together to make a darkly danceable album. Karen Reilly’s sultry vocals give every second a feeling of tension, the relationship between her and the listener being that she knows when she’s going to make her move and you don’t.

One Way Kiss is an extraordinary debut and one it would be criminal to ignore. You need this in your life.
