Sitting somewhere between The Killers and Mika, Under The Influence Of Giants’ camped up pop is difficult not to be taken in by, particularly after a couple of rounds of the recent single, In The Clouds.

Sure, this is not a band afraid to ramp up the cheese factor but when they do, they do it with style. And when they don’t, they hit you with catchy pop songs smart and slick enough to be forgiven a great many sins.

Under The Influence Of Giants balance on a fine line. On one side lies novelty acts, on the other bands that spoil themselves by taking what they do too seriously. Despite the odd wobbly, these guys manage to be neither and push forward something designed purely to be enjoyed.
