The Actual - This Is The Worst Day Of My Life
Posted by: Andy on Wednesday, 15th August, 2007Like most bands, The Actual have spent a lot of their time lugging their gear around from one dingy bar to another. Some people were interested, others weren’t. Luckily for this band, one of the people who was interested was Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver. The singer quickly signed the band to his own Soft Drive label and sent about producing their debut album with his producer and writing partner Douglas Grean.
The first single to come from these sessions, This Is The Worst Day Of My Life (Do You Want To Come Over) is a slice of smart pop-punk, slickly produced but still allowed enough space to throw its arms around a little. Max Bernstein’s raspy vocals stay the right side of annoying and the overblown outro manages to slip nicely into a song that lasts less than four minutes.
